CONTROL OF MOSUL.
WILL NOT BE SURRENDERED. CURZON'S REPLY TO TURKS. NO FURTHER DISCUSSION. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.| {Received 2.30 p.m.) LAUSANNE, December 27. The Marquis of Curzon, in a strongly worded letter, plainly told the Turks that Britain was not prepared to surrender to any foreign country the Mosul district. Britain was willing to consider the modification of the northern frontier only. Lord Curzon argued that it was to the advantage of the population of Mosul to be included within the mandatory area, and tlntly refused to allow it to be attached to Anatolia. No good could accrue through any further discussion on the subject.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
