SLIGHTLY FEWER BIRTHS
DURING THE PAST IS MONTHS.
AS COMPARED WITH LAST YEAR.
Births registered at Auckland during the eleven months ended November 3011 show a slight falling off compared with a similax period during the yesr 1931. For the 1922 period the number was 295(i as against 3032 in the previous year. Deaths during the present year numbered 1481 as against 1395 last year. In marriages the present year compares unfavourably with its predecessor, the figures being 1774 for 1921 and 1729 for 1922. Marriages celebrated before the Eegistrar run very evenly through, the year. Thie past eleven months shows a total of 4-15 as compared with 404 in 1921.
