(Tβ the Editor.) Sir—lt was with a certain amount of indignation that T read the reported utterances of Mr. L. Isitt concerning the Labour movement. This gentleman is evidently determined to justify the not altogether enviable reputation lie enjoys of being- Labour's most bigoted and bitterest opponent in the Parliament of this country. T am a worker endeav. ourintr to support a wife and family on a basic- wage of under £4 per week, anfl T want to say definitely that it cant be done. T also .belong to a union wliose members have had their wages reduced by approximately 10/- per week. Some of my fellow workers were in favour of downing tools as a protest. Mv advice was to wait until December 7 and register a. protest per medium of the ballot box. and nearly 1.10.000 electors have told the (Government nretty plninlv that they do not stand for it* policy.
