The Takapuna Beach Gala, opened on Boxing Day, is on an unusually large scale, tnd will remain open till Monday evening. Amusements, stalls and side chows of all bade have been provided. There is a tea ,*nd luncheon tent, bench and ewimmlng •ports, and competitions with a varied programme for each day. On open air Jazz »oor proves a great' attraction, excellent gusic being played hy the Btrkenbe«d Braes "Md. All the sbowe are beautifully UluJniuated at night, an electric lighting plant Uvlng heen Installed. To overcome the Difficulty of hlffh water many of the show teuts are pliiwd on Mr. W.
