Mr. Winston Churchill was defeated at Dundee. The Labourite candidate beat Sir Donald Mac Lean. Leader of the Independent Liberals, at Peebles. Sir Alfred Butt beat J. W. Molden for the Balham Division of Wandsworth by 9195. Lieut-Col. Sir J. Norton Griffiths was re-elected for Wandsworth Central with an enhanced majority over the Labourite. Sir. Stanley Baldwin. Chancellor of the Exchequer, retained the Bewdley Division of Worcester by a majority of 5443 orer the. Liberal candidate. Lord Robert Cecil retained his seat by a majority of 5075 over the Labourite at Hitchin. Mr."W. C. Bridgman, Home Secretary, «as re-elected for Oswestery. Mrs. Winteringham beat Mr. Hutching* for Louth. Bir Hamar Greenwood, ex-Chief Secretary of Ireland, has been defeated. Mr. Austen Chamberlain. ex-Leader of the House of Commons, beat the Labourite candidate for Birmingliani West hy SOD votes. Colonel L. C. M. S. Amery. First Lord of the Admiralty, was re-e:ected for the SpsrSbrook Division or Birmingham. Lieut.-Colonel Sir R. A. Sanders, President of the Board of Agriculture, was elected for the Bridgewater Division of Somerset. Sir 'F. 'Newton Moore, ex-Agent - Geaeral for Westralia, was elected for Islington North, the voting being: Sir F. Ofcwton Moore 13,520, Miss Tuberville (labour) 7993, Sargeant (Liberal) 7256. ' Mr. J. H. Thomas, the Labour Leader, was elected. Mr. B. S. Montagu, ex-Secretary for India, waa defeated tor Cambridgeshire. The liberal candidate defeated Sir A. Qriffith-Boscawen, Minister of Health, for Taunton. Mr. A. C. McCurdy, ex-Secretary to the Treasury, was re-elected for Northampton. Mr. "Clayton (Conservative) defeated Mr. Arthur Henderson for Widnes by 14,670 to 12,897. This was a great surprise in a straight-out fight. Viscount Ednam, Conservative, was re-elected for Hornsey. Sir M. Conway and Mr. H. A. L. Fisher, ex-President of the Board of Education, retained seats for the combined Universities of Durham. Manchester, Liverpool. Lseds, Sheffield, Birmingham, and Bristol, Sir M. Conway leading Mr. Fisber by a few votes. Sir L. Worthington Evans, ex-Minis-ter of War, was re-elected for Coltkester. Major-General Sir John Seely and Mr. P. G. Kellaway, ex-Pcetmaster-General, were both rejected. Commander Cecil Burney was elected . "or Uxbridge. Mr. F. 'S.
