The Paris newspaper "Matin" states that it seems clearer and clearer that Britain wishes to delay the Brussels Reparation Conference. Belgium also wants a postponement beyond the American presidential election in order to seek the participation of the. United States. " • The '"Matin" agrees that a conference should not be held during the British elections, and says that France, will only consent to a postponement provided that iio«deeision is taken which would prejudice a solution of the problem. ~S\.
