RETURNED SOLDIERS.
ASSOCIATION MEETING.
The executive of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association met last evening, the president (Mr. E. W. Inder) in the chair. A letter was received from Mr. G. E. Elliot, tenderinu his resignation and enclosing doctor's certificate. The resignation was not accepted, Mr. Elliot being granted three months' leave of absence. (It was resoHied to authorise the Pensions Su'b-eonvmittee to epend up to £50 in sending witnesses to Wellington to attend the commission which would be dealing with revision and anomalies that existed in this connection.
With reference to the association memorial to Father Dore at Foxton, the suggestion to place a. taJb'.et in the present choiren, the taJblct to be removed to the memorial church when built, was agreed to. A vote of appreciation was passed concerning tSie work done by Mr. F. H. Buflbuah, late Repatriation Officer, in the interests of returned men of Auckland district.
