A PLAGUE ON ROYALTY.
INSPECTOR SYME RELEASED. , SAVED FROM MARTYRDOM. LONDON, July 23. Ex-Police-Inspector Syme, who was imprisoned for violently threatening the King and Royal Family, has been released on special intervention by the King. Syme periodically ventilates his grievance by breaking windows in public places, and invariably hunger strikes in gaol. Mr. Shortt"(Home Secretary) announced in the House of Commons that the King was anxious that Syme should not be allowed to starve to death In prison.—(United Service.)
