EXPORT OF BUTTER.

NEXT SEASON'S OUTPUT. THE SYDNEY MARKET. I (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. ' Directors of dairy companies are being approached by buyers from British pro°vision distributing houses with reference to next season's output of both butter and cheese. Up to the present no straight-out offers to buy nor to sell whole outputs are reported. A few odd parcels of butter have been bought up to the end of next month at round about 1/9 a pound, but no price appears to be available for shipments beyond that This also applies to cheese outputs. No cheese, however, has been bought for immediate future delivery nor for next season. Interviews of Home representatives are understood to be confined to discussion of consignments only, markets bcin« considered still too high to discuss straightout purchases. A large number of North Island dairy companies will hold meetings of director's next month to specially consider the disposal of tbe output, and to decide on a policy to sell or consign. THE SYDNEY MARKET. Inquiries are being made in Wellington for butter for Sydney, but no definite prices have been offered. From private correspondence, it is learned that the Sydney price at the time of writino- was ±24/ per cwt. Scattered rains had°then fallen on the north coast of New South Wales, but although the outlook for spring production would thereby be •"benefited no immediate advantage was to be expected. Melbourne prices at time of writing were 194/ per cwt for butter grading 90 points. Victorian production, mainly from the western districts, after a spell of bad weather, was at the time the mail left 436 boxes better than at the corresponding date of last season.
