PUBLIC WORKS DISMISSALS.
EXPLANATION BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Own Corro_yot_ent) THAMES, this day. Replying to it telegram from Mr. Rhodes, M.l\, regarding reported dismissals from Hauraki Plains public, works, the Hon. IX H. Outline states:
"The men are being discharged owing to completion of cleaning and other seasonable works, but the Department is retaining all married men who can be profitably employed during tbe winter. Ilegret necessity for dismissal.*'
