LOWER BANK RATE.
STIMULATING EFFECT ON 'CHANGE. LONDON, June IS. The reduction of the bank rate has had a stimulating effect on the Stock Exchange, especially on gilt-edged stocks. which have recovered all round. Consols are quoted at £56, as against £54 17/ yesterday.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
