Rodgers (Minister of Customs) denies that the Wolseley Motors Co. has abandoned its intention of opening a factory capable of turning out 1000 cars a year because of the Customs Department's demand. He statess that during the passage of the Tariff Bill concessions were made on representations of a firm who were permitted to import parts at reduced duty from places outside the Empire, provided they were assembled into chassis and Jtot used for repair work.
