CHEMISTS' REGISTRATION.
AIM OF TIIE ACT. WELLINGTON, this d.*y. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., delivered judgement in-- case in which Cox Gordon was | prosecuted by the Pharmacy Board for using the word "chemist," not being a ! registered chemist within the meaning I of°the Act. Gordon is the proprietor 'of several shops, having in charge of | each a duly enrolled chemist as manager. ! The name of the manager was on the j door, but nowhere on the shop was the ' defendant's name. ! The magistrate said the Act allowed | defendant to do as he was doing. The i mischief the Act \vu; intended to prevent was that of an unqualified man using the word "chemist" a- applicable to himself. The case was dismissed, costs being allowed.
