Mr. Sanjuel Gompers addressed the Federation of Labour Convention to-day. Organised Labour, he said, was in no mood to have its constitutional rights taken from it by any subtle reasoning or assumption of power, no matter whence it emanated. Ijiibour was prepared to fight for the open shop. Discussing the armament conference, Mr. Gompers declared that not much had been accomplished compared with what remains to be done, but a beginning had been made. Labour deserved the credit for initiating the movement. Mr. Gomper*. urged the scrapping of submarines and destroyers.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
