AMUSEMENTS.

OPKHA nOI'SE. There is ruui-h that Is entertaining on :lie new bill at Uio Opera House. submitted in pleased audiences yesterday a f term .on ami t Uist night. Ilavy and Uitcbie presented their juggling spciialiiy for the lirst time, the male partner displaying cousldeial le am! amazlns celerity in handling a surprising assortment of 'articles. First he JilgKiid with three tennis bulls, in quite n different way to most other jugglers. Then he tosses a silk hat, a walking stick, a coat, and v cigarette, :iil at the same tlau>, com-lurting by throwing the cigarette into his moutii. and his hat upon his head. All the time he kept his auditors highly amused with his quips and Jokes about Ford cars. His most successful feat consisted of balancing a feather on his nose. Mowing it into tl.e air, and cati-hlng it on his upper lip. Da\j and Hitchle supply one of the iicst juggling turns seen on Fuller's for many years, lleiesford and lteunie again pleased with their vocalisations, the duet '•Carilen of My Heart" being particularly pleasing. Kit Toms anrt Fred Ronin, two new artists. were well their papa and jokes going well with those in front. Quite h enod turn was concluded V. lth a burlesque o fthe prison scene from "11 Trovatore." The tuneful harmonising and smart mots of j i Hartley and Wrlebt were right up to the :]iest standard while that bright eulertuine" at the piano,' Hal Kale, caught the audience in a fresh place. Lloyd and Raymond, patterists aud simultaneous dancers, repeated their success of Inst week. I'agden and ' Stanley amused with a number of new verses of their popular song "In the I'aya of Adam nnd Eve." Miss Verna Bain, premier danseuse. presented two new dances. "Spirit of the East" and "Lazy Sailor." both being received with bushels of applause. With accompaniments by Mr. E. J. Bnrko and Ids orchestra the change of programme Is a most enjoyable one. To-night the bill will be augmented' by the first appenran.M; of Newman and Wynn, in character studies from life. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. There should be no complaint if all comedies, or comedy dramas fulfilled their mission aa does "Scratch My Hack." the production adapted from the Imok by Koberi Hughes, which was screened to large attendances at Everybody's Theatre yesterday. Much of t lie humour is derived from the sub-titles, which are always light and hri-hi. while Milne Chadwick as Madeline, anil Hoy Barnes as Val Hoinn-y. both play excel lently. quite entering Into the spirit of their parts. Homney is a young man, soniew.-mt impetuous, who has learned the habit of , doing what he likes. Madeline has an escapade. biding away from her convent school and learning stage dancing with the great "Jaioda." One" evening after her marriage to the Italian Consul. Madeline is at the theatre in a very decollete gown, and Romney who is sitting behind her. seeing she is in distress, obligingly does the, right tiling. As a result be ultimately learns of her f. ar of .lahoda. who is blackmailing her, ami. lik# a good knight errant, he takes a very ttrni hand in the game. There are many complications in the action that are, however, all explained satisfactorily in the tinale. Cesare Gnivina is a most amusing character as Jahoda —we were sorry when he made his exit. The London scenes, the railway station for the boat train for Paris, and the American-English policeman with white gloves, all help to make "Scratch My Back" bigli grade comedy. The latest Gazette, an amusing comedy, anil a picture of tho Edinburgh Zoo complete a splendid programme. AMUSEMENTS GUIDE. HIS MAJESTY'S —"The Mairt or the OPERA HOUSE— Fullers' Vaude.ville.
