LIFT FATALITY.
IN APPRENTICE KILLED. BY ELEVATOK. WHILE WORKlX'fi IN SHAFT. A fatality occurred on the premises of Jtfessre. Milne and Clnuve. At the same time the operator, unaware of the lad's presence, switched the current on to descend, with a result the unfortunate youth was struck at the back of the head and shoulders. The other workmen instantly stopped the lift on feeling the impact. The lad w ns taken to the hospital in Rn unconscious condition, and never recovered.
