REVOLT IN TURKESTAN
ANTI-BOLSHEVIST MOVEMENT. SUPPORT FROM PEASANTRY. (By Cable.—Press Association.—CopjTight.) (Received 11.30 a.m.) DELHI, June 11. Anti-Bolshevik Bokharans, known as the Basnaches, are showing more coordination. They have recently made progress, and the major portion of I Southern Turkestan, east of the line J through Samarkanfl and Guzar is in their hands, while they are said to be preparing on a large scale for an attack on Bokhara itself. There have been considerable captures of arms and ammunition, and undoubtedly the whole country regards their elTorts with a friendly eye. ! The frontier committee is now taking the evidence of prominent Punjab officials, who appear to favour re-amalgaina-ition. From an official standpoint the Punjab Government is absolutely neutral, and is willing to undertake responsibility, but views askance the financial difficulty. Due Indian Minister said bluntly" he would sack all political officers administering the. tribal districts, and recruit afresh from a different class. , (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
