BACK TO HAWAIKI.
MAORIS JODJ THE MORMON'S. Some weeks ago a party of seven natives left the shores of Ao-tea-Roa for their ancient home at Hawaiki, under the guidance of the Moruian Church, for a purpose that would have more than astonished their ancestors. At Honolulu, the Mormons, a temple' building people, have erected a magnificent building for ceremonial usage and for the ordinances of their faith. After being prepared for seven days t«e New Zealanders were immeracd and baptised in the temple. Two members of the party returned yesterday by the Niagara. The other members of the party will remain in Honolulu for some weeks yet. One of the women who returned was from the Hokianga district, one of Mawden's own Npapuhie. •■> • i .a^_
