ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

MEETING A.F.A. The weekly meeting of the Auckland Football Association was held last evening, Mr. D. A. Williams presiding over a well attended meeting. A deputation from the waterside workers waited on the association and Intimated that Ihey had formed a club and requested affiliation. The chairman informed the deputation that the club was too late lo be Included in the competition matches, but would be quite eligible for the Falcon Cup knock-out at the end of the season. A request that permission to play a match with Wellington on June 3. between teams from the waterside workers of; Wellington and Auckland was granted, and the committee agreed to provide a ground. Mr. H. S. W. King was elected to the vacancy among the vice-presidents caused by the retirement of Mr. O'Leary. Coder the rale passed at the last annual meeting there are only six vice-presidents app»inted on the A.F.A.. and these are ex-ofiirio members of the Management Committee.

An application for the regrading of H. Rentley and D. Butler from third to fourth divisions was made by the Onehunga Methodist Cluli and granted.

Competitions in the sixth, seventh and schools competition will be postponed on Saturday next owing to the school holidays. The New Zealand Council intimated tli.it challenges had been received from Manawatu and South Auckland, and that Auckland would be required to meet tbem In that order to defend their title. It was de, ided to reply that the matter would he given Immediate attention, and a special sub-committee was appointed to arrange for grounds for the playing of these matches.

Detailed Information regarding the forthcoming tour of the Australian representative team was received from the New Zealand Council. The Australians are due to arrive lin Wellington by the Ullmaroa on May 24th. and will play their first match In this city ngalnst Auckland on July 8 and the Final Test v. New Zealand on July 8. The suggestion that the, Auckland Association manage the third test match was agreed to. and , the recommendation that the charges for admission to ground he 1/, with 2/6 for the stand forwarded to the council for confirmation. Players selected for the first test match will be required to assemble at Dunedin four duys prior to the match, and will be required to produce a medical certificate of physical fitness. The council has received advice that the leading players, as far as New South Wales is concerned, were available for the tour, and it was anticipated that the touring combination will he a strong one. The colours of the Australians to be worn will be light blue and maroon. It was decided to request other sporting bodies to lso make their arrangements that their representative fixtures would not clash with the Association matches against the Australians. Messrs. Ritchie were appointed a committee to arrange the reception and entertainment of the visitors during their stay in Auckland.
