i • N.Z. CONFERENCE ARRANGED. At the monthly meeting of the Wellington branch of" the Navy League, held on Tuesday, a letter was received from ; the Christchurch branch stating that in ■ response to circulars cent out on the j question of a New Zealand conference i in Wellington eeven branches out of nine had replied favouring the proposal. Auck- ' land had replied favouring delay until all the branches were more fully aware of 1 the effect of the decisions arrived at by the Washington Peace Conference. Christehurch wae desirous that a conference ehould be held, and called upon the AVellington branch to make the neces--1 sarv arrangemente. I The secretary stated that the Wellingi ton branch had last year agTeed to a i conference being held. I On the motion of Mr. H. Nathan, seconded b> Mr. .S. H. ITnderwood, it wae decided to hold the conference on a date to be fixed in July. In the meantime branches are to be asked to formulate remits for consideration thereat. : Mr. R. I). D. McLean, of Napier, who : wae a visitor to the meeting, said he wae ! pleased to find the league established in , good offices and a preat deal of work ' going on.
