At the monthly meeting of the Wellington branch of" the Navy League, held on Tuesday, a letter was received from ; the Christchurch branch stating that in ■ response to circulars cent out on the j question of a New Zealand conference i in Wellington eeven branches out of nine had replied favouring the proposal. Auck- ' land had replied favouring delay until all the branches were more fully aware of 1 the effect of the decisions arrived at by the Washington Peace Conference. Christehurch wae desirous that a conference ehould be held, and called upon the AVellington branch to make the neces--1 sarv arrangemente.
