ALLEGED THEFT OF JEWELLERY.

WELLINGTON, Wednesday. fieorge Bowden, a young man, who said he arrived from Australia a few months ago, was to-day committed for trial on a charge of breaking and entering the premises of Mr. Blyth, jeweller, of Petone, and stealing twenty rings valued at £140. The offences were ■alleged to have been committed last: month. The evidence was that ac the result of | ■what PieTre Kugener, brother-in-law of the accused, had eaid a search was made under the house where the accused wae staying.
