. I APPLICATION FOR EXEMPTION DISCUSSED BY ARBITRATION J COURT. The Arbitration Court this morning discussed the procedure that was to be adopted by unions in connection with I applications fur exemption from any j order made by the Court for the reducI tion of wages. I Mr. T. Bloodworth said that the procedure ivas set out in the Act. but he understood some question had been raised as to the necessity for taking a, I ballot. He had been informed that Mr, I Justice Stringer had held that there was jno necessity to take a ballot, i Mr. Bcott, the employers' representaI tive, said that the judgment was an oral one to meet a ease of necessity. Mr. S. E. Wright, secretary of the ! Auckland Employers' Association, said that be would not object to the ballot being dispensed with if the case was roa- | sonable.
