Walker and Dellon- waited on the council and requested that some improvements should be effected to the approach of the Vauxhall School. Street Flower Stall.—A resident who is a disabled returned soldier made the application for permission to have a flower stall situated iv Clarence Street, jqit off Victoria Koad, on ttiree days a vreeK Tbe Mayor Thought that the application should, be granted, to give the applicant, a disabled soldier, a chance to earn a living. Two councillors objected on tbe grounds that n flower stall would compete with a fruiterer, who was a ratepayer, and that a dangerous precedent would be established. Wairau Bridge.—The Waitematu. Countr Council wrote notifying that the cost o*f removing stone from the Wairau Creek would not coyer the value placed *ou the metal. There was thus a credit balance owing. The council decided that the stone be measured, and the account for the cost of the wort made up: On tbe recommendation of the Finance and Legal Committet! it was decided that a claim of half cost in excess of the Government grant of £130 'be made to the Walteuiata County Coudcll and that the Minister of Public Works be notified that the idea had not been drooped although the grant had Dot been claimed Loap.—The Public Trustee notified that debenture forms for the £41OJ loan were in tup bands of tbe printer
