NORTHCOTE SCENIC BOARD.
The first meeting of the enlarged Northcote Scenic Board has been Used bj- an Order-ln-Councll just issued for nest Monday. Meetings are to be held quarterly. The tenure of office for the new Boara gazetted Is to be for three yeaxe, the members being:—The Commissioner of Crown iands for the North Auckland -Land District, ex offldo (chairman). Messrs. J. WCourt (Mayor), J. P. McPhail. C. E. Campbell ana E. C. Walton (Birkenhead representatives), and Messrs. E. W. Richardson. H. <H. Hunt, and J. B. Tonar (Nortbeote repre- , sentatlves). The area was formerly known 'as the Kauri Gully Reserve, comprising 23 acres 3 roods 20 perches, at Xorthcote, antt was administered by the Northcote Borough Council prior to the constitution of a Scenic ■Board consisting of five membere. includinjt the Commissioner. This number has now been Increased to eight—four from Birkenhead and three from Northcote. in addition to the Government representative. The names include the six nominees recently recommended by Mr. A. Harris M.R.. witn the addition of Mr. MePhall, who had been I continuously a member of the Board since Its constitution, and whom the Minister decided to re-appoint.
