The area was formerly known 'as the Kauri Gully Reserve, comprising 23 acres 3 roods 20 perches, at Xorthcote, antt was administered by the Northcote Borough Council prior to the constitution of a Scenic ■Board consisting of five membere. includinjt the Commissioner. This number has now been Increased to eight—four from Birkenhead and three from Northcote. in addition to the Government representative. The names include the six nominees recently recommended by Mr. A.
