44-HOUR WEEK.
SYDNEY, April 26. The op-ration of th« 44-liour week is adversely affecting the silica quarries near Milton. One hundred employees have been dismissed as a consequence. The timber mills at Kowra and Batesman"s Bay are reducing their staffs for the same reason.—(A. and N.Z. Cabled
