BASIC WAGE UNDER REVIEW.
SYDNEY. April 26. The Board of Trade has again met to ! review the basic wage. The representa-! tive of the employees asked for an' increase on the ground that the standard of living should be improved. The employers contended that the standard was fair and just, and said that as price* i had fallen wages should be reduced. The i Board adjourned sine die, and will conI eider in the meantime whether it will fix [a new wage.— [A. and X.Z. Cable.)
