I z =— ■ ; The first direct shipment ot fruit from Rarotonga will be landed at Auckland from the Union Co.'s steamer Flora i during next week. This steamer left : Rarotonga on Saturday last*with more ! than 10,000 eases of oranges and between two and three thousand cases of bananas, the fruit being loaded at Rarotonga and Mangaia. The bananas, it is anticipated, will be of good quality, being early in the season. During the time the Flora was laid up shipments of fruit from Rarotonga came by way of Wellington. Three and four colour knitting, a simple but very fascinating work, is a special feature of the knittins demonstrations at Milne and Choyce"s this week.—(Ad.)
