INTERESTING EXCAVATIONS. I Received 10 a.m) f LONDON, April 23. Government road repairs to the old [Roman r° a _ near Dartford brought to light interesting traces of Celtic .perhaps earlier, civilisations. A female skeleton Oft 3in high was found buried in an attitude of prayer in solid chalk seven or eight feet below the surface. Crudp ornaments and. unknown coins were found deeper, also fragments of a Roman tesselated pavement. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
