FIRE ON RARANGA
SURVEY TO BE MADE TO-DAY.
The Shaw-Savill steamer Raranga will undergo survey this afternoon .in order to ascertain the damage caused by the fire, which broke out among the copra cargo on Friday night, and until this is completed the agents (Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd.) state that it will 'be impossible to estimate the damage, though it is considered to he small.
The Raranga had 1700 bags of copra aboard, and this had all been unloaded. It is to be dried, and ,if in a fit condition on Thursday it will probably be again loaded. If not it will be placed on the next Shaw-Savill steamer. -Some wool and flax, which was affected by water has also been unshipped, and it will be reconditioned.
The Raranga will leave at daylight on Thursday for London.
