BEEKEEPERS' INTERESTS.

The annual general meeting of the Auckland branch of the National Beekeepers' Association was held In the Chamber of. Commerce last evening, the president (Mr. 1. Hopkins) presiding. The chairman reported that although the 'Crab had not been able to carry out a full programme at the apiary at Cornwall Park, there had been a good attendance at each of the demonstrations. This was sufficient encouragement lo justify further demonstrations early next, season, when all -ranches of the industry would be dealt with.
The following remits to the National Beekeepers' Couferenre. at Duuedin ne-t June were adopted : That a Chief Government Apiarist be appointed : that a defence iilnd to protect tieekeepers' Interests be established: that the penalty for breach of rhe Apiaries Act be increased from £o to __(>: that registration include a declaration that none but frame hives are kept. It was also decided to recommend that next years conference be held at Paliuerstou North.
Mr. T. E. Clarke was appointed delegate of I tie Auckland branch at the conference.
The officers for the ensuing year were appointed as follows: Patrons. Messrs. 1. Hopkins aud 11. Brett: president. Mr. T. E. Clarke; vice-presldeuts, Messrs. G..V. Westbrook and H. Fraser; hon. secretary and treasurer. Mr. W. .1. Jordan: committee, Mesdatnes Parsons and Stevenson. Messrs. A. Gooding and 1. Hopklirs, and officers; auditor, Mr. Ingram.
