The honour of contesting the first Mayoral election .at Avondale is claimed by James Watkin Kinniburgh and William John Talt, these being the only two nominations received yesterday, the closing day. The eight seats on the Council will be contested by Messrs. A. E. Blaekman, J. B. Clarke. C. E. Fearon, E. Gill, H. A. Harrison, A. P. Haslem, N. Mackenzie, G. A. F. Malcolm, J. F. Riesterer. T. Roe. T. H. Spargo. W. J. Thompson, H. Tiarks, F. H.
