this day. Toohey, the rider of the Cup favourite, Harvester King, which finished in the ruck, explains his poor showing by stating that his mount was going well till nine furlongs from home. He was then squeezed, and received a hard bump which affected the horse's wind and absolutely settled his chance.—(A. and N__. Cable.)
