» (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.! . THAMES, Saturday. The Returned Soldiers' Association held their annual axemen's carnival in the High School grounds to-day. The attendance was a record. Following are the results:— Maiden Chop. 12in block.—T. (1. Douglas 1. T. Johnson 2. L. Honey 8. Time. 40s. There were 28 competitors in the event. Local Chop. 15in blocks. —R. Beasley (24s handicap) 1, D. A. Johanson (245) 2, F. Patterson (20s) 3. Time, 655. Twentysix competed. Underhand Chop. ISm blocks.—W. Herkt (225) 1. A. McCormlck (245) 2. Time, Cls. Twenty-nine competed. Standing Chop, 15in blocks.—.T. Palmer (16s) 1, A. McCormlck (245) 2. Time, 07s. Twenty-six competed. Underhand Chop, 15in blocks.—J. Rawllnson (265) 1. R. Angel (12s) and A.
