SCOUTMASTERS' WORK.
EXEMPTED FROM TRAINING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CJEffiISTC-TURCH, Friday. __i a meeting of the Dominion Executive of thfi Boy Scouts' Association, the chief commissioner, Captain D. C. W. Cossgrove, stated that he had received the following letter from the Defence [Department:— •- "Referring to your letter of March 25, I have to advise that the points raised by yon have been considered, and the folio*, iniy instructions issued to rrm.T-a.-nr.... Scoutmasters and assistant scoutmasters of the Boy Scouts' Association may be exempted from military training, providing a certificate ia furnished by the chief commissioner to the effect that such trainee is rendering efficient service as a scoutmaster or assistant scoutmaster. This certificate is to he submitted to the staff officer in charge of the regimental district by the trainee claiming exemption from military training. In accordance with the above, total exemption will be granted only on condition that the trainees do three years' service as scoutmasters or assistant scoutmaster. Should they not complete three years of efficient service as euch they may be required to carry out the whole of their military training in f-uch manner as may be ordered."
