POLICE COURT.
(Before Mr. -T. W. Poynton, S.M.) MAN'S GRAVE OFFENCE. George Arthur Wilson, aged 55, pleaded guilty to having indecently assaulted three girls—two aged 12 and one 10 years. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. SEQUEL TO "JOY KIDE. Henry Hampton, a youngish man, pleaded guilty to having, on March 11, stolen a motor cur and seven gallons of benzine, the. property of Thomas Alexander Low. to the value of £4t>s. The car was taken from the owner's garage, in Owens Road during the night of March 11, and was subsequently returned to him. in a damaged condition, from New Plymouth. To the police accused made a statement to the effect that he stole the car and went "joy-riding" with a friend and some girls. Then he drove to Hamilton, where his friend left him. Later, he continued on to Taumatomaire, where he abandoned the car after it had become stuck in the mud. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence, and was committed for trial on a charge of having broken into and entered a store at Onehunga. which he denied. Hampton's companion. Stanley Roy Montgomery (21), pleaded guilty to having assisted Hampton to escape after the commission of thp theft, and he was also committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. GAOL FOB INDECENCY. William Thomas Jackson admitted drunkenness and t'\e committal of an indecent act in Graham street yesterday. He said he had just come dowa from the country, and, after taking a quantity of gin for his kidneys, did not know what he was doing. As he had previously been convicted for similar offences, he was fined £1 for drunkenness and sent to gaol for seven days for his act of indecency.
