REPORT TO BE REVIEWED. LONDON". March 31. In the House of Lords the Karl ol Donoughmorr moved that the House' agree to the report of the Committee on Privil ges regarding the claim of Viscountess Hhondda, who is a peeress in her own right, to sit in the House of Lords. I Lord Birkenhead moved an amendment' to remit the case to the committee in I order that points might be discussed again. It was a question, he said, whether an Art of Parliament by proper legal interpretation had made it neces- j sary for their lordships to say that peeresses must be admitted. The amendm nt was agreed to without a division. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.) The Committee on Privileges reported in favour of Lady Khondda's petition claiming tihe right to sit in the House of Lords. The claim was has don the contention that the Sex Disqualification , Removal Act was intended to abolish all sex disqualification which prevented the exercise of public functions. The Crown did not oppose the claim. If the decision of the committee is confirmed it will confer the privilege on 'I'd other peeressee.
