NEW ZEALAND UNKNOWN.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l am nine miles ■_rom Los Angeles, California, and twice 1 have been into different post offices for stamps and asked the postage to Xew Zealand. On each occasion the official got a book to look up, and in iboth cases failed to find the information, so I was asked, "Where is it"" When I replied not far from Australia, I was advised "You had better pay the same postage as to Australia, as we have never heard of it." 1 think our New Zealand climate quite as good as that of California, hut they have done a very great deal to 'boost up their country over here.—l am, etc., S. ROE.
