W -5 Gather up fallen leaves. d~ gj, Trim the edges of the lawn. Keep everywhere as tidy at possible. X '3 Keep Dahlias, Cosmeas and such tall subjects neatly tied up. r "' ! "?, Disbud Dahlias; cut away some of the weaker growths. Sit j Disbud Chrysanthemums; keep them securely tied. fe j 3 Both Dahlias and Chrysanthemums will take plenty of feeding now. & Lift and replant Box edgings. fp §j Plant Bulbs when the ground is in good order. jfe jj Sow Summer and Early-flowering Sweet Peas. D-. Ji Sow Ten Week Stocks and other annuals. w hsS Plant Anemones and Ranunculi. fe iit Remove any plants that are done. Jk j 3 Prepare new Roso beds by trenching. X 3! Cuttings of many shrubs can be put In now. ki? Mi X U THE VEGETABLE GARDEN. | 3 • fc~ % Clear away all spent crops as soon as possible. fe #j Dig or trenoh any vacant ground. t_ 3 Sow Oats, Mustard or other crop for digging In as grotn manure. i 3 Make a sowing of Spinach for winter use. W % Sow Shorthorn Carrots and Bsetroot. p_ A Sow Cabbage and Cauliflower. j£ j Plant out any Cabbago and Cauliflower plants that ape obtainable. If -J Save seeds only when the pods are thoroughly dry. p 3j Look over stored Onions and Potatoes. fe 2 Keep Runner and Dwarf Beans closely gathered. I* % THE GREENHOUSE. J| 3J Thoroughly clean the inside of the greenhouse. p -fl Gloxinias and Achlmenes will need less water, and will soon be drying off. % -'■{ Bogonias must not be kept too wet, or they will mildew. Ek 3. Put In cuttings of Fuchsias, Geraniums, Pelargoniums, Heliotropea, etc tPot on Primulas and Cyclamen as they require It. Keep moist, shaded,'and W a well ventilated. fe Ji Cinerarias will need frequent transplanting. X tn Fumigate at first signs of Green Fly or other pests. nf
