XKW ZEALAND GRAND COUNCIL. THI". ANNUAL SESSION". The annual session nf the Now Zealand (fraud Council of the Protestant Alliance Friendly Society of Australasia was held at Wellington Oddfellows' Hall on Wednesday, the Worthy (irand -Mastor illvo. W. ti. Lttmley) presiding over a good attendance of delegates from the various lodges throughout the Dominion. The Mayor (Mr. K. A. Wright, M.P.), in ii brief address, bade the delegates a cordial welcome to the city. In his annual address the (Irand Mar-tor congratulated thorn on the fact, ihat the work of (he Order was still heing pushed forward throughout tho Australian States. One noteworthy feature was that their (»Tder. which'had never previously been able to gain a footing in South Australia, had now -omc seven lodges tnere, as the result of organising work during the previous year. and the next Federal Council meeting would have the pleasure of erecting South Australia into a Grand Council, ln conclusion, he paid a high tribute to the work done for the executive and fo r the society by the (irand Secretary (Bro. R. ('. Proctor). On the motion of the Grand Treasurer I Bro. J. B. Falconer), it was resolved that the funeral levy remain at 1/6 per quarter, but the incidental levy be rai.-ed from 1/3 to 1/4 per quarter. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: — Grand Master. Bro. W. (!. Lumley: Deputy-Grand Master, Bro. 11. D. Austin: Grand Secretary. Bro. T!. C. Proctor: Grand Treasurer. Bro. -I. B. Falconer: Grand Chaplain, B*o. B. "Main: Grand Trustees. Bros. .T. Harvey, Y. Kastier and J. Mclntyre. The scheme submitted by the Grand Executive, and approved by the Begistrar of Friendly Societies, was adopted after a lengthy discussion.
