THE AUTUMN MEETING. OPENING DAY'S RACING. GOLD GIRL WINS THE CAMPBELL.' The Auckland Trotting Club's Autumn Meeting was opened to-day in fine weather, and with a large attendance. When they were let go Molly Park moved first, followed by Audex and Pine Child, but going along the back Bellson ha<i charge with Molly Park as his nearest attendant, and Audex, Pine Child, and Lord Roberts handy, the lied being strung out in a long line. Passing the stand Lord Robert- had worked his way to the frout, being well clear of Rose Bingen, and then came Audex, Fairbairn and Reta Hnon, with Beilson, which broke badly in the straight, heading the others. Going along the back Lord Roberts drew ont, followed by Pine, Child and Audex, none of the others being wthln strikin distance. In the run homo Pine Child broke badly and Lord Robertdrew our to win easily by three le—gt_s. line Child beat Audex uy two and a-half lengths for second honours, and then came Hula Girl, Rose Bingen, Rita Hnon, Bon Bon, Peter Kae, Fairbairn, and Bellson. Lengien reared and broke her sulky, taking no part in the race, aud when they were let go Director also threw her driver out of the sulky, but he got hack again! but too late to have any chance in the race. Ivy Audubon was first to show ont, leading along the back followed by Glenoc, Anselm and Bellova. Passing the stand Ivy Audubon was out a couple o_ lengths In front of Glenoc, after which came Nita Cole, Anselm, Bellova, 'Pani, and Special Tra-cey, with Goldman heading the others. Going along the back the last time Ivy Audubon was still setting the pace, Glenoc being her nearest attendant, with Anselm and iSpecial Traccy next, while Goldman', irloved up' to within striking distance audi the lot mentioned were all handy turning for home. In tbe rnn to the judge a line struggle was witnessed, Goldman staying the longer and getting the decision by half a 'length from Special JTraeey, which was a similar distance in front of Anselm. Glenoc was fourth ana then came Ivy Audubon, Heather Girl, Gold Flake, and Bellova. Time, 3.40 4-5. Pani was favourite. CAMPBELL HANDICAP (Harness) of lOOOsovs. Two miles. Going along the back William the First was JusC in front of Wild Briar and Prize Pearl, with Comedy Chief, Gold Girl and Nita Bell "handy, the other pair still being well bad?. Prize Pearl falling away beaten. Going along the back the last time the leading division bunched u*p and rushed Into tbe home turn, William the First. Wild Briar, ■Cotnedy Chief aud Gold Girl being close together, with Nita Bell and Woodvale close up. In the run home Wild Briar shot out, only to -be immediately challenged by Gold Girl, which finished fast and outstaying: Wild Briar got the wverdict by threequarters of a length. William the First got •third, a length and a-haif away, and then a neck away came Nita Bell, just in front. of Woodvale, with Comedy Chief and Grand Voyage following, Prize Pearl being} a long way back. My Junior drew out going along the back, but crossing the top broke, and Harry Audubon got In front and from that out the issue was never in doubt, the favourite winning easily for four lengths.
