ANOTHER £7,000 WANTED. Those who are in charge, of the campaign for raising £25,000 for the eight Protestant orphanages in Auckland have succeeded in gathering in £18,000, and ai strenuous effort is to be made to raise | the remaining £7.000 'before the end of | Easter week, April 22. While many j peogle have given liberally, the campaign committee ,feele that many people who are aWe to give, and whose duty is ob■viously to help this worthy cause, have not yet realised that duty. No one I doubts for a moment the nohln work I that is being done in these splendidly managed homes, hut it is generally the ■way with voluntarily supported institutions—the public often forgets that it h actually beinjr saved a large amount in rates that would otherwise he necessary. And it is too often the willing horse that ie left to do all the pullin?.
