The Allied Commissioners handed a joint Note proposing an anr.istiee to the Porte and the Kcmalist representatiA-es. The Near East Conference decided that if Turkey accepts its proposals she will be admitted to the League of Nations. The proceedings of the conference are secret, but. it is believed that it is considering the protection of minorities and the Dardaneles question. It is not believed that Britain intends to interfere in any religious settlement, which will be left to the parties concerned.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
