UNHAPPY MARRIAGES.
TWO DIVORCE PETITIONS. Before Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supremo Court this morning, Ada Agnes Ellinor Simms (Mr. McLiver) petitioned for the dissolution of her marriage with James Eric Simms. The parties were married at Auckland on September 30. 1910, and there was one child as a result of the union. Petitioner stated that the marriage was a most unhappy one, and in June, 191!), they separated by mutual consent. Since' then they had continued to live *part. His Honor granted a decree nisi to foe made absolute in three months, petitioner to have custody of the child. Desertion was thp ground of a petition by Lola Hoar Knyvett to have her matrimonial ties with John Frederick Knyvett severed. Mr. McLiver appeared for petitioner, who stated that she was married at Wangamii on November 7,' 100.">. There were three children of the marriage. In December of 1917 respondent deserted her and had never returned. His Honor granted a decree nisi, allowing petitioner custody of the three children.
