SOCIAL JOTTINGS. Dr. and Mrs. A. E. Shaw, of Auckland, are visiting Christchureh. Mr. and Mrs. G. Goodwin, of Auckland, are on a visit to Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. K. Cleland, of Auckland, have been on a tour in the South Island. Miss Mamie f>picer will leave on the Manuka en route for England by way oi Suez. It is a health trip, and she expects to be absent for eight months, during which time she will ftay with relatives in England. An interesting wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, frit. Albert, yesterday morning at 11 o'clock, when Miss Elizabeth Madge McLean, second daughter of the late Mr. Murdoch McLean, and Mrs. McLean, of '•Ainolie," Mt. Albert, was married to Mr. Alexander Geddes. eldest son of the late Mr. McKail Geddes, and Mrs Geddes of "Hazelbank." Symonds Street. The church was beautifully decorated tor the occasion with white flowers and green foliage by friends of the bride, and a large white wedding bell hung over the bridal party. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Neil McLean, of Wellington, wore a charming frock of white silk stockinette handsomely embroidered in gold, with a ha£ in white and gold to match, and carried a shower bouquet in white flowers. She was supported by Miss Stella McLean, as bridesmaid, in bfue brocade trimmed with mole satin and hat to match. She carried a bouquet in pink and white. Mr. William Geddes acted as best man. A wedding breakfast took place at "Ainslie," the home of the bride, after the ceremony, which was very quiet, when Mrs. McLean wore amethyst satin braided with pale heliotrope, black tulle hat, with .white osprey, and earned a bouquet of pale and deep purple asters. Mrs. McKail Geddes was in biscuit coloured georgette black lace scarf, and black hat. with a bouquet of purple flowers and maidenhair fern. Mrs. McCosh Clark wore navy blue knitted silk and navy hat to match. Miss Mary Ged'Stes was in cream voile embroidered with pale pink and crepe de chine. Mrs. T. W. Leys wore a handsome knitted silk frock, with black hat to match. Mrs. Xeil McLean, black silk stockinette frock and hat to match. Miss Mary McLean, lemon coloured taffeta trimmed ■with brown, and cold and white hat. Dr. T. W. Leys and Mr. Oliver Nicholson were the only other jrueste present.
One of the Queen's wedding presents to Princess Mary will be a very beautifully illuminated Prayer Book, which •the Princess will use during the marriage .service. The Prayer Book vill be specially printed and arranged.
