In addition to tlie continuation of weekly cricket. l«nvlinp and tennis fixtures about the city, there will bo tlie Auckland Motor ('yule Club's sports and hill-climbin;,' competitions at Orakei Basin. Large entries have been received and the contests should be exceptionally interesting. One of the raogt popular events will be Cheltenham Uoach Carnival, for which special arrangements have lieen made to ensure a very spectacular series of rowing evuniii on the water in conjunction wilii aide-show.-; for the immediate enjoyment uf patrons on the sands. further down the harbour will be the cruising race at Cowe« Itay. A fnir nuin ber ol" |>ieiiic.-; will also ho held, including those of the City Council, Harbour Hoard, and local bodies'employees, stonemasons and the employees of Messrs. Campbell and Khrentried Ltd., whilst the Christian Endeavour I'nion will hold a I basket- picnic at Henderson. A garden ! fete will also take place at Takapuna. Oilier events about tile district that will attract attention will be the Waiivcrii show and the Te Kuiti races. < HELTKXirAM CARNIVAL.
