■ I AUCKLAND CENTRE, X.Z.A.A.A. | A special meeting of the .Sports Committee of tbe Anckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held last evening, when the following programme in connection with the visit of the South African athletic champions to Auckland on Saturday, February 4, was decided npon:—lOOyds. liiOyds. 220 yds invitation races, one-mile relay race (880 yds, 440 yds. 220 yds, and 220 yds). Handicap events: lOOyds, 220 yds. 440 yds. 880 yds, onemile run. 120 yds hurdles, 440 yds hurdles, one-mile walk, hop-step-and-jump. high jump, half-mile junior cycling, one-mile and two-miles cycling races. Particulars of entry, date, etc.. will be duly advertised Owing to certain opposition the Auckland provincial championships will not be conducted by the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club on January 21 as Intended. An effort will, however, be made to bring off the championships some time in February. George Davidson.
