j The City Fire Brigade received a call last evening at 10.22 to O'Connell ' Street, off Shortland Street, the scene of the outbreak being in an old iron building occupied by Messrs. Baxter and McGregor, sheet metal workers. Some rubbish had taken fire and there was a fair volume of smoke. The brigade's activity attracted a good deal of attention from the main street.
