Belmont Subdivision.—Plans submitted by I£. H. Jackson for proposed subdivision were approved, with third class roads, subject to the council being satisfied that the school is getting the back area at reasonable price. Saltburne-Hurstmere Corner Subdivision. —Plans for subdivision of one acre into five allotments were submitted. It was stated that the proposal would be made to conform to the new by-law. and it was approved. Building Without rermits.—Several cases of persons beginning building without first obtaining permits were reported, aud the Mayor stated that it was evident the offenders would have to be prosecuted. Chinese Quarters. —The medical officer of health reported that certain premises inhabited by Chinese were Insanitary ami decidedly unhealthy. IJe recommended that the council issue a demolition notice to tbe owner. It was agreed to take action accordingly.
