A twenty minutes' delay on mc Par-] nell and Anzac Avenue sections of the j tram service was occasioned this morning, commencing just before nine o'clock through a defective tram car. This resulted in a number ol" passengers having to alight and continue their journey on foot. Those on the Parnell run were compelled to walk from Wynyard Pier into the city in order to got to business in time for work, a distance of about half a mile. About nine cars were held up in Customs .Street as a result of the temporary hold up.
