FEDERAL RE-SHUFFLE.
CHANGES IN THE CABINET. THREE MEMBERS DROPPED. (By Cable.—"Press .Association. —Cojyrltat.) (Keceived 10.30 a.m.) MELBOTJKNE, this day. A complete re-shffle of the Federal Ministry is announced. Mr. J. H. Wise (Postmaster-General), Mr. W. H. Laird Smith (Minister for the Navy) and Senator E. J. Russell (VicePresident of the Executive Council) are dropped, and Messrs. G. M. Bruce, H. Lamond, R. W. Foster, Senator J. Earle, and Mr. W. M. Marks appointed, the lastnamed as Under-Secretary, assisting Mr. Hughes, with no seat at the Cabinet meetings. The following is the re-arranged Cabinet:— Mr. W. M. Hughes, Prime Minister and Minister of External Affairs. Senator Gr F. Pearce, Minister of Home Affairs and Territories. Senator E. D. Millen, Minister of Repatriation. Mr. L. Groome, Attorney-General. Mr. Massy Greene, Minister ofDefence. Mr. A. Poynton, Postmaster-General. Mr. A. iS. Rodgers, Minister of Customs. Mr. S. M. Bruce, Treasurer. Mr. R. W. Foster, Minister of Works and Railways. Sir G. de L. Ryrie, Assistant Minister of Defence. Mr. H. Lamond, Assistant Minister of Repatriation. Senator John Earle, Vice-President of the Executive Council. The re-shuffling has occasioned much surprise in political circles.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) BOUNDARIES REMODELLED. MORE CITY SEATS. (Received 2.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The commission arranging the redistribution of the Federal electorates recommends three new city constituencies, making a total of 15 country and 13 city seats. The Nepean and Barrier constituencies will disappear, and there will be wholesale re-modelling in practically every 6eat. —(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
